About us
We build the fastest path between a lost loved one and home
TrackQR is made by The Smith Group — a small team of engineers, runners, caregivers and pet parents who have all felt the panic of a missing family member.
Our story
It started with a dog and a dead battery
One of our founders lost a dog on a weekend hike. The expensive GPS collar had run flat hours earlier. A hiker found the dog that same afternoon, but with no way to reach anyone it took two more days and a shelter visit to get home.
That gap — a willing stranger with a phone and no way to reach the owner — is the entire problem TrackQR solves. A printed code never runs out of power. A smartphone camera is already in the finder's hand.
The same logic protects people. A runner collapsing on a trail, an elderly relative disoriented downtown, a child separated at a festival: one scan surfaces a medical profile and broadcasts precise coordinates to the people who are already looking.
Safety is not a subscription
Charging families monthly to find the people they love is wrong. The app and the service are free.
Kind strangers are the network
There is no hardware mesh to build. There are already billions of smartphone cameras out there.
Works where signal is thin
The tag needs no power, no pairing and no cellular plan of its own — only the finder's phone.
One family, two halves
We give equal weight to human personal safety and pet recovery, because a household holds both.
